Other Matters

This is a junior member message. As you know the next junior show is Alice and is a new junior script based  on Alice in Wonderland. If you have not received your letters then either they have been lost in the post or something has gone wrong. The first get together for this show is at the Urmston Cricket Club on the 20th January with auditions being held on the 3rd February at the same venue.

In the last few years we have had more youngsters coming to audition than we can physically have on stage so we sometimes have to let people down. One year we had 80 young people auditioning for 45 places on the stage. If you want to stand a good chance then make sure you learn you song and script and you can sing it in front of an audition panel. You will be nervous but if you can overcome those nerves and look confident then you will have a great chance. The production team is Emma Darsley ~ Director, Deborah Holmes ~ Musical Director and Leanne Hobbs ~ Choreographer. If you fancy having a go then you will have a great time. See you all at the get together.

Christmas

Many Hands make Light Work!

The Urmston Musical Theatre wish to thank everyone for their continued support throughout 2010. It was a tricky year in that we set our goals very high with the production of Beauty and the Beast combined with the set build but I think we pulled off a major coup. It was a brilliant show and, even now, people stop me and comment on just how good it was. The junior show was Honk where we saw (or heard) our new radio microphones which made all the difference and meant that it was a brilliant show. 2010 commenced with our Puss in Boots pantomime directed by Gary Jones which was a great success and full of new innovation. Who can forget having to generate enough power to transport us to the top of the castle by singing the Time Warp? A master stroke of genius!

However, as you may have read on the blog, not everything occurs on the stage. There is plenty of off stage activities and as we enter our centenary year we want to go from strength to strength. If you want to tread the boards then get in touch. If you want to help backstage then get in touch. If you just want to help then get in touch. We would love to see you.
